First curbshopped items of the year!

If you were driving along and spotted this sign on some furniture at the side of the road, would you stop?

I’m going to take that as a yes, since you’re reading a blog titled Confessions of a Curbshopaholic!

Well you know I stopped, right?

The dresser is nothing special, not real old or well made or anything.  But I think it could be cute if painted so I grabbed it.

The table?  This would be simply awesome with a new paint job.

Guess I’ll need to take a trip to storage to drop it off.

Hmmm, maybe my son would let me store it at his house since I’m getting that TV armoire out of his garage for him!

Can’t hurt to ask, right? (um, maybe I’d better hold off on that idea….)

I got a new camera for Christmas.  It’s slowed me down some, but I’m really liking the pictures it’s taking.

I think it’s because the lens is cleaner.

  1. The only thing I see on the side of the road on my way to work is roadkill.

On the advice of the company I ordered my camera from and a friend who is a photographer, I bought an inexpensive $10 lens filter that screws right over your lens ( you leave it on always ) to protect the valuable lens underneath. Very good investment! Nice pictures!

  2. I'd have grabbed both of them. That type of dresser makes a great changing table in a baby's room It would also make great storage in an entry way.

  3. I would have TOTALLY stopped. I found a bunch of great fun things yesterday (and grabbed them all!) but it's rare that I come across furniture in that condition. Way to go Rose!

  4. I would have stopped. I love the table!! Can't wait to see what you do with them.

  5. Great finds! I would have carted both home for sure. That dresser would be made into a bench! I'v been on the lookout for a free dresser!
Glad you got a new camera for Christmas!

  6. I definitely would have stopped! Great find! Can't wait to see what you do with them both.

  7. YES on the dresser as I have a "thing" for them!
    Have fun painting!

  8. The first thing out of my mouth was "I want that table" so yes, lol, I would have stopped and picked up both. you are so lucky!

  9. LOL!!! I woulda stopped... I can't wait to see what you do with them!!! CONGRATS on your new camera!!! Isn't it fun to view your world through a new lens?

    ;-D have fun!!!

  10. Oh heck ya I would have stopped....but I don't think they'd fit in my VW Beetle!! HA! Great finds.

  11. Nope would not have passed them up. A little sanding and a some paint and you will have something you can sell or give away!!! Wow wish I could find those kind of deals!

  12. I'd snap those up in a second! Can't wait to see you work your magic!

  13. I actually came across a table just like that. Painted the top to look like a french clock, and painted the hands to be the time of my wedding, then placed glass on top to protect it, the leg area was painted flat black. It was free and we get so many compliments :)

  14. got there before me:)

  15. What great pieces for FREE and they would be so fun to transform. Lucky you!

  16. Wow...awesome curbside find! I never see anything this neat on curbs I go by...can't wait to see how you transform them!

  17. Yeah, I would have stopped! I LOVE that table!

  18. Of course I would pick it up! One can never have too many roadside goodies. Amazing what people throw away, huh?

  19. Hi there. I love your blog, you are so creative. I would most certainly stop & pick it up especially since I've got big plans to paint some furniture. I just won an entire set of Krylon Glitter Blast from Mark Montano's blog & I am very much looking forward to using it. I'm sure my Husband is thrilled to hear there will be more glitter in the house. haha
    Enjoy your weekend.

  20. Oh yeah! I sure would!

I can't wait to see how that table looks AND the dresser all painted.
    Go Rose!

Thanks for stopping by. I love to hear from you!
