New Clock from Gail

Recently I admired a clock that Gail had hanging in one of her “before” kitchen backsplash pictures.

I mentioned it in my comment and before I knew it a package arrived in the mail.

It was a clock just like the one I had admired.

Turns out Gail had an extra in her stash and being the amazingly generous friend she is, she sent it to me!

Isn’t that the sweetest thing?

It’s a 2 sided Grand Central Station clock, in brass finish.

Here you can see a bit more of the brass.

I just love the style of this clock.

Only problem was the brass finish didn’t go with my light fixtures in the kitchen/dining room, where I planned to hang the clock.

So I asked Gail if she would mind terribly if I painted it.

She said “Of course not!  But you have to blog about painting it….”

I should have known-she’s relentless about blogging!

So I pulled out a pewter finish kit from my paint stash…..

You know, the kind that comes with spray paint for the base and a glaze type finish you apply after painting.

I buy these kits for a dollar at the local Real Deals store.

And now this is what it looks like.

I still need to hang it up.

Thanks so much Gail!  I truly love it!

You’re the best!
