A Laundry Room Inspiration Piece

Ok, well, um, I mean, ahem, the laundry room is now officially becoming a real big project.

There!  I said it!  The P word.

I never intended this, and it certainly wasn’t on any of my to-do lists.

But……

Somehow it has captured my imagination and I’m feeling very inspired to make some bigger changes down there to go with the new washer/dryer.

It seems that painting the wall just isn’t enough.

Ever have that happen to you?  Has a little simple change suddenly bloomed in your head as a full blown makeover?

I can’t seem to think about anything else.

It’s consuming my brain every waking moment.  Why, I’ve even dreamt about it!

So, I guess the only thing to do is just roll with it and let it happen.

The good news?

As it turns out, I have everything in my dwindling ample stash that I need for this.

Surprised?

Aw, come on! The least you could do is PRETEND to be surprised.

Jeesh!

Guess I’m not fooling any of you, you’re all on to me and my obsession for collecting curb finds.

The whole thing (insert P word here) won’t really cost much more than the price of a few 2x4’s and a new laundry bag.

Huh?  What?

A laundry bag?

I’m going to very unfairly blame a little bit of this on Jami from Freckled Laundry.  I was reading her blog the other day about the his/her laundry bags she made for a wedding present; and next thing you know I’m on etsy ordering one from her!

It just caught my fancy and so now I have to make my laundry room worthy of not only the new washer and dryer, but that darn stinkin’ cute bag!

This photo is from her post, click on it to go there,

Why she even posted a great tutorial on how to make it yourself too!

Stay tuned for the plan that just came to life all on it’s own.

It’s going to make me crazy until I do it.

Rose

  1. Oh my yes, I do know what you're talking about! Why paint a wall when you can knock yourself out and redo everything in a room??? I'll pretend I'm shocked to learn you have everything on hand : ) And those laundry bags, definitely are a must have!

  2. I saw those bags and yes, they are cute! I've had this happen to me. I've even had it start by just cleaning a room and then realizing I should move a couple of things around and then boom! I redoing the whole space. I'm one of those people that focus/obsess on it until it is done. Good luck! Can't wait to see what you do.

  3. Oh Rose, I can see it now. Before it's over you'll have a chandelier installed and that laundry room will be a sight for sore eyes. (You do have a chandelier in that stash of yours don't you?) I do the same thing with projects. Grampy hates for me to use the phrase "I have an idea". lol

  4. I just recently saw a photo of someone's sewing room and how they sort their scraps......well I loved the way they sorted the scraps now I want to build a whole new cutting table! I know I could make part of it so who knows what will happen if I get bored this winter, especially since we have cleaned the garage and there is room to work and have the heater on!!! I am sure that if I decide to tackle this I will have to bug you, Deb and Gail on a few of the how to stuff. Can't wait to see how you laundry room looks.

  6. Oh Yeah you are screaming my language... I don't dare move anything anymore or it turns out to be a entire days "P"...

Hahahaha Granny... yes she has a chandelier in her stash... that would be so cool.

Hey Rose look at the bright side at least you are indoors where it is warm and you get to use more of your dwindling stock before Mike makes me come back there and throw it to the curb...lol

Can't wait to see what you come up, I am sure it will be fabulous.

    Hugs, Deb

  8. Well this is a sweet post, Rose! Thank you for sharing my (well YOUR) laundry bag with everyone. I don't know whether to smile or feel guilty that it's a culprit to a whirlwind of DIY projects. Ha! I cannot wait to see what you've cooked up with your laundry space. I love the P word. The husband? Notsomuch.

    Thank you!

  14. It's sort of like a snowball out of control. Just keeps building and building. I have to admit I do dream about stuff, P stuff. What i should do or shouldn't do. That's what gets me into trouble and I have too many P things going on at one time!
