On my way out of town yesterday I took a little detour down some side streets into a neighborhood I don’t know.
Mostly because I noticed it was trash day, and you know I love trash day anywhere!
Cruised around a few minutes, getting lost in all the circles and cul-de-sacs. Then decided to head back to the main road empty handed.
At which point I spotted these!
Love the round seats!
There was a Formica topped table with this set of chairs, the legs were already detached from it and laying on the side.
The table top wasn’t great, so I left it behind.
But those legs!
I just love the shape of them, and they are HEAVY!
The circle detail with the leaf is my favorite.
This set reminds me of my gazebo furniture, which I also love. (see the leaf design on the coffee table?)
The chair fabric is that old plastic vinyl that looks like woven fabric. It is in amazing condition. Not a tear or crack anywhere!
Not sure I’m a fan of the color, but you gotta appreciate something that held up so well for so long. I envision this set being used outdoors somehow, maybe I’ll work it into the Outdoor Kitchen on the patio that I’m planning.
Hmmmm, maybe a round table top to go with those legs?
And at the same curb, there was this.
This piece was what first drew my eye at the curb.
I don’t know about you, but anything I see that’s wood just gets my heart racing.
Don’t answer that!
This needs reupholstering desperately.
And someone had obviously taken the time to strip the wood.
Perhaps they got discouraged?
Or ran out of steam?
Or just decided it wasn’t worth the effort?
I can’t imagine just tossing a piece of this quality to the curb.
Don’t these people have friends they could have offered it to?
These got to ride around in my van with me all day. Some 250 miles later when I got back in town I dropped them off at my storage locker. There’s not much room left there, but I didn’t dare bring them home.
I have wayyyy too many projects in the works!
But seriously, wouldn’t you have picked these up if you saw them?
Gotta go now, it’s trash day somewhere…..
